NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion University men's tennis team will open their 2022 spring slate on Sunday when they host Penn State University inside the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.   The match will begin after the conclusion of the women's match with Penn State approximately 1-1:30 p.m.

"We are excited to get the new season started as our guys worked hard and can't wait to start competing again," said ODU Head Coach Dominik Mueller. "Starting a season at home is always special and hosting a Big Ten team of this caliber demonstrates the level of our program nationally. We are expecting a hard-fought, high-level match with a very talented and well coached Penn State team that we have a lot of respect for.  It should be a great match Sunday, he added."

Heading into the spring, the Monarchs have four players in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Rankings headlined by the doubles tandem of Luca Maldoner and Nicola Vidal who were ranked 29th nationally.  The duo won the ITA Atlantic Super Regional in the fall.
