NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women's soccer team won its third straight Conference USA game of the season, extending its winning streak to five after a 2-0 victory over Middle Tennessee in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on Friday night.

Head coach Angie Hind said, "This is always a difficult place to come to and I have a lot of respect for Middle Tennessee, so to get the win is great for us. I honestly thought the first half was one of our best halves we have played this season so far. We moved the ball with real purpose and I thought looked really threatening. Carla scored two fantastic goals and I'm pleased for her given the work rate she gives."

ODU (7-2-0, 3-0-0 C-USA) scored the first goal of the game in the 14th minute, when Carla Morich found the center of the net with a redirecting header off a cross from Yuliia Khrystiuk.

Morich found the net again minutes before halftime to give ODU a 2-0 lead. After a deflected Monarch shot popped out, Morich finished into the right top corner of the goal.

Jasmine Crawley played all 90 minutes for ODU, making two saves and getting her second clean sheet of the season.

Hannah Suder played all 90 minutes for Middle Tennessee, recording six saves and keeping a clean second half.

Middle Tennessee (5-5-1, 1-2-0 C-USA) fired eleven shots, two shots on goal, and played off five corner kicks. Peyton DePriest led the Blue Raiders with four shots, two on goal.

"As much as we did well with the ball the first half, we were put under real pressure the second and had to dig in. The team effort to keep them out was just as pleasing. Really proud of this team, really proud," Hind said.

The Monarchs will return to the ODU Soccer Complex to take on Marshall on Friday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m.
