Noah Wilkins Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University swimmer Noah Wilkins was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District men's at-large team, CoSIDA announced today. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. The men's at-large sports include fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, tennis, volleyball, water polo and wrestling.

A native of New Orleans, Wilkins graduated with a 3.99 GPA in nuclear medicine technology. He was named the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Scholar-Athlete of the Year after winning the 100 freestyle with a time of 44.72. He placed second in the 50 freestyle with a time of 20.33 (.02 behind 1st) and finished fourth in the 100 backstroke with a time of 49.55. A valuable team swimmer, Wilkins swam in four relays at the CCSA Championships, the most you can swim, helping ODU to a second place in the 200-medley relay and a trio of third place finishes.

Wilkins is also busy outside of the pool. A member of the ODU SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee), during the pandemic, he volunteered at his church giving food and supplies to those in need. 

Wilkins has advanced to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. The CoSIDA Academic All-America team will be announced in early August.
