Corcoran, Shaefer, Siskind Named Second Team All-AAC

IRVING, Texas – Madison Corcoran, Caroline Shaefer and Lilly Siskind of the Old Dominion women's lacrosse team were named to the All-American Athletic Conference Second Team, the conference announced on Wednesday. All three received postseason all-conference honors for the first time in their respective careers.
 
"I am so proud of Lilly, Caroline, and Madison and would like to congratulate them all for these honors," head coach Heather Holt said. "These three student-athletes were leaders on and off the field. They worked hard each day and were very consistent throughout the season."

Madison Corcoran | Jr. | D | Rochester, N.Y.
A Preseason All-AAC selection, Corcoran anchored the Monarchs' defensive line all season. Corcoran started all 17 games for ODU, caused 22 turnovers and was seventh in the conference with 1.29 caused turnovers per game. The native of Rochester, New York also picked up 27 ground balls and secured six draw controls. She set new career highs with five caused turnovers and five ground balls in ODU's 16-7 loss to Cincinnati on April 16.
 
Caroline Shaefer | Fr. | M | Glen Mills, Pa.
Shaefer was tied for fourth on the team with 12 goals and added four assists for 16 total points. The native of Glen Mills, Pennsylvania notched three hat tricks on the season, including one against conference foe Cincinnati on April 16. Seven of her 12 goals came from free position opportunities, and her conversion percentage from eight meters out was seventh-best in the American. Shaefer added 10 ground balls and four caused turnovers and snared 49 draw controls – the sixth-most in a single season in ODU history. Additionally, her 3.5 draw controls per game were sixth-best in the conference.
 
Lilly Siskind | So. | A | West Chester, Pa.
The Monarchs' other Preseason All-AAC honoree, Siskind enjoyed a breakout year in 2021. The native of West Chester, Pennsylvania started every game and set new career highs with 31 goals and 42 points to lead the team in both categories. In addition, her 11 assists were tied for the most on the team. Siskind tallied five hat tricks on the season and scored a personal-best five goals in the Monarchs' 13-12 overtime win over East Carolina – their first conference win as a member of the American. Amongst her peers in the conference, Siskind ranked eighth in total goals and ninth in points.
