NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women's basketball team returns home for the first time in 20 days when it hosts Bowie State for a 6:30 p.m. tip on Wednesday. The game is streaming live on CUSA.tv with the radio broadcast being carried by ESPN Radio 94.1 FM.
 
The Starting Five
The Monarchs are winners of their past four games, their second-longest win streak under head coach DeLisha Milton-Jones. During this run, ODU is outscoring opponents by 13.5 points per game, shooting 42.1 percent from the floor, averaging 14.75 assists per game and turning over the competition 21 times a game.
 
ODU's latest win came at William & Mary, 68-55 on Sunday afternoon. The Monarchs led 42-29 at the break, built a 23-point cushion in the third quarter then weathered a 13-0 run from the hosts that spanned the third and fourth quarters. Old Dominion shot 55.9 percent from the floor in the first half (42.6 percent for the game) and forced 29 turnovers. With the win, ODU is now 383-108 all-time against the Commonwealth.
 
Ajah Wayne scored an ODU single-game high 24 points against the Tribe, shooting 7-of-13 from the field and 9-of-12 from the foul line. The senior now has 1,057 points and is 30th in all-time scoring at Old Dominion. Wayne has 12 career games with 20+ plus points and has 58 double-digit scoring games in her four-year career.
 
Iggy Allen turned in 16 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals on Sunday and was 2-for-3 from 3-point range. Allen currently leads C-USA in 3-point percentage (.444) and is seventh in the conference in treys per game. Over the last four games, Allen is shooting 50 percent from deep on five attempts per game.
 
Old Dominion turned William & Mary over 29 times on Sunday and was credited with 20 steals. Through eight games, the Monarchs rank second in C-USA and 32nd nationally with 11.4 steals per game and are 25th in the nation with a plus-6.12 turnover margin. Mariah Adams (2.57) and Kaye Clark (2.50) are fourth and fifth, respectively, in the conference in steals per game.
 
Scouting Bowie State
Bowie State, a member of the Division II CIAA, enters Wednesday with a 2-3 record following a 58-53 loss at the University of the District of Columbia over the weekend. The Bulldogs were undone by a 2-of-13 (.154) performance from behind the 3-point line.
 
The BSU roster features a pair of double-digit scorers in Katerra Myers and Talanya Hutton. Myers leads the team with 11.6 points per game on .452 shooting and pulls down 7.8 boards per game. Hutton averages 10.2 points and 6.0 rebounds.
 
Bowie State has won at least 20 games in each of its past four seasons, including a 25-5 mark in 2019-20, and made three consecutive NCAA tournaments. The Bulldogs did not play last season.
 
BSU is one of the best teams in Division II in terms of protecting the basketball. The Bulldogs rank sixth in the nation in fewest turnovers (63) and are 28th nationally in turnover margin (plus-6.5).

What's Next
Old Dominion closes out its home portion of the nonconference slate on Sunday, when it hosts crosstown rival Norfolk State at 2:30 p.m. After that, the Monarchs take to the road for two final tune ups at Appalachian State (Dec. 18) and Temple (Dec. 22) before jumping into Conference USA play.

Men's basketball season tickets cost $215 and include tickets for the Monarchs' exhibition on Nov. 6 and all 14 of ODU's regular season home games. Women's basketball season tickets cost $115 for adults and $250 for courtside seating and include tickets to all 15 of the Monarchs' home games. Special pricing is available for senior citizens, ODU faculty and staff, and members of the military. Call the ODU Ticket Office at 757-683-4444 to receive special pricing. New this season, fans can select season tickets for men's games in section 108 for the promotional price of $110. For women's games, fans can select season tickets from sections 107, 108, and 109 for the price of $75.
 
Season tickets represent a savings of more than $50 for men's games and $45 for women's games, over single-game tickets. Single-game ticket prices start at $18 for men's games and $11 for women's games, with special pricing for senior citizens, ODU faculty and staff, youth (12 and younger) and members of the military. ODU students can register for student tickets for free to any ODU men's and women's home game.

Mask Policy
Old Dominion University updated its mask protocols to enhance the health and safety of the campus community and to reflect updated guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. As of August 16, Old Dominion University requires face coverings to be worn when entering all indoor spaces, including Chartway Arena. We encourage you to wear your mask at all times while in the building, with the exception of actively eating or drinking. We will continue to monitor and follow state and CDC guidelines. Fans do not currently have to show proof of vaccination to attend ODU Basketball games at Chartway Arena.
