NORFOLK, Va.- The Old Dominion women's rowing team added Brian Reifsnyder as an assistant rowing coach and recruiting coordinator, ODU head coach Dan Garbutt announced on Monday.

"Brian brings with him a great deal of capability and positive energy; he's already had immediate impact and I'm looking forward to seeing what's next," said Garbutt.

Reifsnyder joins the Monarchs after serving as the assistant rowing coach at La Salle for just over three years. With the Explorers, Reifsnyder was the recruiting coordinator and assistant coach to the men's and women's rowing teams and worked on recruiting, budgeting and compliance, while coaching and mentoring student-athletes.

Prior to La Salle, Reifsnyder was an athletics department intern at Saint Joseph's and an assistant rowing coach for the Holy Ghost Preparatory School in Bensalem, Pennsylvania.

Reifsnyder graduated from Temple with a bachelor's in sport management in 2016. During his four years at Temple, Reifsnyder competed with the men's varsity rowing team. He helped the Owls to an appearance in the 2016 IRA National Championships and won the Ash Cup at the San Diego Crew Classic in 2015.

Reifsnyder said, "I'm excited to be a part of the Monarch family! I truly believe we have the resources and support in place here at ODU to begin competing for conference championships".
