Old Dominion field hockey sophomore Marlon de Bruijne received more post-season recognition on Monday as Synapse Sports named her to their Second Team All-American squad for the 2021 season.

In 13 games that de Bruijne (Den Bosch, Netherlands) played in, she had 12 goals (third in BIG EAST), four assists, 28 points (tied for third in BIG EAST) and four game-winners (second in BIG EAST).

She led the Monarchs in goals, points and game-winners this season, as well as shots (68) and shots on goal (37). In ODU's win over Quinnipiac, de Bruijne scored three goals. She was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week once this year and earned First Team All-Big East honors.

De Bruijne was named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-South Region team last month.  This marks the second straight year she was recognized by Synapse Sports after being named First Team All-American and Rookie of the Year for the 2020 season.
