BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Old Dominion women's soccer team remains in Boca Raton, Florida to play in the semifinals of the Conference USA Tournament hosted by FAU. ODU will play Middle Tennessee on Friday, Nov. 5 at 4:30 p.m. ET. This match will be available to stream through ESPN+ : https://es.pn/3GTEYN0
ODU (11-4-1, 6-1-1 C-USA) is coming off a 1-0 overtime win over UTSA in the quarterfinals. Riley Kennett prevailed for the Monarchs, scoring a header three minutes into overtime. Carla Morich contributed three shots to the Monarchs eight shots of the match, while Cami Johnstone had three. Kasey Perry recorded her eighth clean sheet of the season while making two saves on five UTSA shots faced.
The Monarchs won the C-USA regular season championship with a 6-1-1 record, only allowing one goal in league play. Emily Roberts received the final C-USA Defensive player of the Week as well as Conference Defensive Player of the Year and First Team Honors. Perry also received Conference Goalkeeper of the Year and First Team Honors. Ece Turkoglu joined Roberts and Perry receiving First Team Honors.
Gry Boe Thrysøe and Morich received Third Team Honors. Thrysøe was also named to the All-Freshman Team. Head coach Angie Hind was recognized for her work this season and received the Coach of the Year.
Middle Tennessee (9-7-2, 5-3-0 C-USA) is coming off a win over No. 2 seed Rice in penalty kicks in the quarterfinals. Eleanor Gough led the Blue Raiders on the attack taking three shots. Cambell Kivisto, Peyton DePriest, and Caroline Manley recorded two shots each.
ODU and Middle Tennessee faced off in September, when ODU won 2-0 in Murfreesboro.
The winner will play the winner of the (1W) Southern Miss/ (3W) UAB matchup in the C-USA finals on Sunday, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
