NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion volleyball team closes out the regular season with a pair of matches against Middle Tennessee on Friday and Saturday. On Friday night, the Monarchs will hold senior night and will honor Julia Dunning and Alessia Sgherza.
About ODU
ODU enters the final weekend of conference play still in the hunt for the East Division's fourth and final spot in the upcoming Conference USA Tournament. The Monarchs must win both of their games against Middle Tennessee and have WKU sweep Charlotte and FIU win both of its matches against Marshall in order to make the tournament.
The Monarchs dropped a pair of matches at No. 18 WKU last weekend. Sgherza led ODU in kills in both matches and finished the series with 15. For the season, the graduate student from Massa, Italy is second on the team in total kills (192) and first in kills per set (2.74).
Old Dominion boasts a pair of players who rank inside the top-10 in Conference USA in blocks per set. Hailey Duncan is seventh with 1.03, and Olivia De Jesus is right behind in eighth with 1.00. Additionally, Duncan is seventh in the league in hitting percentage (.332).
Setter Teresa Atilano is fourth in C-USA with 815 total assists and averages 9.26 per set. Jordan Daniels ranks ninth in the conference with 308 digs.
About MTSU
The Blue Raiders split a pair of five-setters with Florida Atlantic last weekend. Kayla Henley (15), Dasia Smith (14) and Samira Lawson Body (13) all posted double-digit kills in Friday's win over the Owls, and Henley and Lawson Body notched double-doubles with 13 and 10 digs, respectively. Lawson Body ranks 11th in C-USA with 3.33 kills per set, and Henley is 21st with 2.47.
Taylor Eisert sits in fifth in the conference rankings with 9.62 assists per set. Marley Banton is second in C-USA with 4.62 digs per set, and Melisa Nur Temiz's 0.36 aces per set is fourth-best in the conference.

Mask Policy
A mask mandate is currently in effect for all indoor spaces on the campus of Old Dominion University, including the ODU Volleyball Center. All patrons are required to wear a face mask that covers both the mouth and nose fully at all times while in the ODU Volleyball Center, except while eating or drinking. If an individual enters the facility without a mask, one will be provided.
