DALLAS – Old Dominion University football wide receiver Ali Jennings III was named Conference USA Player of the Week, C-USA announced on Monday.
In ODU's bowl eligibility clinching win over Charlotte, Jennings caught nine passes for a career-high 252 yards and three touchdowns. The 252 receiving yards was the second most by an ODU player, only second to Nick Mayers' 271 yards against New Hampshire in 2012. The 252 receiving yards was the fourth most by an FBS receiver this season, while seven of his nine catches were 17 yards or longer. His three TD catches ties an ODU single-game record, which has been done a total of 10 times, the most recent being Jonathan Duhart in ODU's 2018 win over Virginia Tech.
For the season, Jennings has 56 receptions for 992 yards and five touchdowns. His 992 receiving yards leads the team, and his five touchdown grabs are tied with Zack Kuntz for the team lead.
