NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University redshirt sophomore tight end Zack Kuntz was named CoSIDA Academic All-District, CoSIDA announced on Thursday.
A graduate transfer from Penn State, Kuntz leads ODU with 58 receptions for 588 yards and four touchdowns. His 58 catches are the second most by a tight end this season.
Kuntz has caught eight or more passes four times this season, including his career-high of nine, which he has done twice. He caught nine passes for 119 yards against WKU and had nine receptions for 102 yards and a touchdown in the win at FIU.
Kuntz earned his undergraduate degree in marketing from Penn State with a 3.40 GPA and is currently working towards his master's degree in sport management at ODU.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).
Kuntz and the Monarchs travel to Middle Tennessee on Saturday, Nov. 27 for a 3:30 p.m. EST kickoff.
