All Conference Honors

NORFOLK, Va. – Emily Roberts, Kasey Perry, and Angie Hind of the Old Dominion women's soccer team earned Conference USA accolades on Monday afternoon, C-USA announced on Monday. Roberts earned Conference USA Defender of the Year as well as being named to the C-USA First Team. Perry joined Roberts on the C-USA First Team while earning Conference USA Goalkeeper of the Year.  Head coach Angie Hind was awarded Coach of the Year. Roberts and Perry were joined on the all-conference team by Ece Turkoglu, Gry Boe Thrysøe and Carla Morich 
   
Roberts received Conference Defensive Player of the Year and First Team Honors. The three-year captain has started and played all 15 of ODU's matches while recording one goal, two assists, and seven shots. Roberts was named C-USA Defensive Player of the Week twice this season (Sept. 21 and Oct. 31). Roberts helped the Monarchs defense record seven shutouts so far this season. 
   
Perry received Conference Goalkeeper of the Year and First Team Honors. The senior goalkeeper has recorded six shutouts while only conceding one goal in conference play. For the overall season, Perry appeared in 12 matches, recording 24 saves and seven total shutouts. She was named C-USA Goalkeeper of the Week twice this season (September 21 and October 12). Perry capped this season ranking first in C-USA for goals against average (.51), saves (.994), and shutouts per game (.714). 

Ece Turkoglu was named to the Conference USA First Team. This season Turkoglu had 13 game appearances, missing only two matches to travel and compete with the Turkish National Team. The junior, midfielder was the determinant throughout the season contributing two assists and 15 shots this season.  

Gry Boe Thrysøe was named Third Team all-conference and the All-Freshman Team. The freshman from Denmark had 13 starts of her 15 game appearances this season. Thrysøe was an essential part of the midfield for the Monarchs recording two goals and 18 shots.  

Carla Morich also earned third-team honors. Morich is ODU's leading scorer, finishing the regular season with 15 starts, five goals, five assists, for an overall 15 points. A native of Germany, she finished the season third in C-USA in points (nine), fifth for game-winning goals (two), sixth for assists (three), seventh for shots (24), ninth for shots on goal (11), and 12th for goals (three). 

Hind started at ODU in 2014 and had her most successful season in 2017 when the program went 9-5-5, 6-2-2 in conference. This has been a historic season for the Monarchs, as ODU won the Conference USA East Division for the first time. Hind has led the team to an overall record of 10-4-1, 6-1-1 in conference play. Early in the season, the team went on a six-game win streak, four of which were conference match ups. The Monarchs had a six-game conference unbeaten streak where they did not allow a goal. 

The Monarchs look next to the 2021 Conference USA Women's Soccer Championship in Boca Raton, Florida. ODU will play in the quarterfinals on Nov. 3 at 1:30 p.m. ET against the winner between UTSA and North Texas.
