NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University men's and women's swimming fell to George Washington in the season opener at the J.C. Scrap Chandler Pool this weekend. GW won the women's meet 186-127, while the Colonials' men's team won 187-120.
GW held the lead coming into day two, but Summer Miln won the first event on Saturday with a time of 52.70 in the 100 freestyle. Noah Wilkins won the men's 100 freestyle with a time of 46.02, while Liam Redman came in second with a time of 47.42.
Tara Enneking won a pair of events on Friday night and continued winning on Saturday, taking first in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:22.23.
Jacob Cobb earned a win in the 400 IM with a time of 4:14.26, while Hugo Eriksson came in second with a time of 4:25.60.
The final race of the day was the 400 freestyle relay, with the men's and women's teams coming out on top. The women's squad of Miranda Byrne, Madeline Willson, Tara Enneking and Summer Miln had a time of 3:33.32, while the men's team of Redman, Liam Garbutt, Ryan Lincicum and Noah Wilkins won the 400 freestyle with a time of 3:04.17.
ODU returns to the pool at Davidson on Friday, Oct. 15 at 5 p.m.
