The Monarchs are riding a four-match win streak and have claimed victory in eight of their last nine contests. ODU jumped up two spots in this week's Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll and boasts a NCAA RPI of No. 13.

"This is a good start for us, and we have been able to learn some things and figure out some strengths as a team, while making some mistakes, but still finding ways to win," said ODU head coach Andrew Griffiths. "Our aim is high this year, so the second half of the season we will be working to improve our ranking."

For the second consecutive week Marlon de Bruijne was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week. She now has seven goals in the past four games. de Bruijne ranks fourth in the NCAA and first in the BIG EAST for goals per game (1.00).
