CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Yuliia Starodubtseva and Tatsiana Sasnouskaya of the Old Dominion women's tennis team won the doubles title at the ITA Atlantic Super Regional held at the Virginia Tennis Facility at the Boar's Head Resort. Starodubtseva/Sasnouskaya will next compete in the ITA National Fall Championships, which will be held on November 4-7 at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego.
Coming off a runner-up finish at the ITA All-American Championships, No. 57 nationally ranked Starodubtseva/Sasnouskaya won their first three matches to advance to the regional title match against Virginia's Melodie Collard/Hibah Shaikh. In the regional final, Starodubtseva/Sasnouskaya rallied to victory after dropping the first set (6-7(7), 7-6(5), 10-4).
In singles, No. 36 Starodubtseva rattled off wins in her first three matches to advance to the semifinals before ultimately falling to Virginia's Elaine Chervinsky (4-6, 6-1, 6-7). No. 77 Sasnouskaya also claimed victory in her opening three singles matches but was ultimately upended in semifinals against No. 8 nationally ranked Natasha Subhash of UVA (5-7, 6-1, 1-6).

Joining Old Dominion student-athletes the past four days in Charlottesville were players from George Washington, Georgetown, James Madison, Maryland, Penn State, VCU, West Virginia and Virginia.
For the first time, the ITA's regional championships were split with qualifying matches happening at different regional sites earlier this month. Sixteen singles players and eight doubles teams earned spots in the field through qualifying. The remaining 16 singles players and eight doubles teams earned direct entry into this Super Regional by virtue of their ITA and/or UTR ranking.
