NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion men's soccer team prepares to travel to Newark, Delaware on Wednesday to take on the Delaware Blue Hens in a non-conference match. The game will be streamed on FloSports starting at 7 p.m. 

ODU (2-8-1, 0-5-1 C-USA) is coming off a 3-2 loss against No. 17 ranked FIU on Friday night. Ty Arico scored his first goal of the season while Karan Mandair scored his third goal of the season off of a penalty kick. Eliot Goldthorp hit his season high for shots (four) during the match, improving his season stats of three goals, one assist, and 24 shots. Djibril Doumbia played the full 90, making five saves on 15 FIU shots faced.  

Goldthorp is tied for ninth in C-USA for shots per game (2.0). Doumbia is second in C-USA for saves per game (3.89) and third for saves (35).  

Delaware (1-11-1, 0-7-0 CAA) is also coming off a 3-2 loss to William & Mary on Sunday afternoon. Ryan Mertz led Delaware on the attack, taking three shots on goal and scoring two of them. Delaware's leading attacker Carlos Fernandez also took three shots while Tiago Santos took two.  

Fernandez is ranked ninth in the CAA for shots on goal (15). Junior goalkeeper Scott Sampson is first in CAA for saves per game (4.9) and ninth for saves (49). 

ODU has not played Delaware since 2012 when they tied 0-0. ODU leads the all-time series with Delaware 12-4-1.
