NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women's soccer team takes its home field on Friday afternoon to go against Charlotte in Conference USA action. The match will stream on CUSA.tv beginning at 4:30 p.m.
Old Dominion (9-3-0, 5-0-0 C-USA) is coming off its fifth straight C-USA win after beating Western Kentucky 1-0 on Friday night. Kasey Perry played all 90 minutes in the net for Old Dominion, recording one save and notching her fifth shutout of the season. Riley Kennett scored her first goal of the season, and Carla Morich and Emily Roberts were credited with the assists.
Perry earned her second C-USA Goalkeeper of the Week Honors while Kennett received C-USA Defender of the Week for the first time this season. This season is the first in ODU women's soccer history that the program has achieved five straight Conference USA wins.
Charlotte (6-5-1, 2-2-1 C-USA) is coming off of a 2-1 loss in overtime against Middle Tennessee on Friday night. The 49ers had not had a loss since their game against Southern Miss on September 16. Piper Biziorek scored her fifth goal of the season and the lone goal for the 49ers against Middle Tennessee. Biziorek is tied for fourth in C-USA for goals (five) and tied with teammate Macy Bader for ninth for points (11). Abby Stapleton was in the goal for Charlotte earning 11 saves in just over 92 minutes. Stapleton is ranked eighth in Conference USA for saves per game (3.5) and ninth for saves (35).
Old Dominion lost 3-1 to Charlotte in the spring 2021 season.
