BUIES, N.C.  –  The Old Dominion men's soccer team fell at Campbell 4-1 on Friday night in Buies Creek.    

"We didn't win the battle and the better team won tonight," ODU head coach Alan Dawson said. 

Campbell (3-1-1) scored first in the 25th minute of the match up as Daniel Hernandez found enough space in the Monarch 18-yard box to place a shot into the left corner of the net.  

The Camels found the goal again in the 38th minute in an identical fashion to the first goal, only Tyler Young found the top left of the net this time.  

The ODU defense would hold off Campbell's attack for 30 minutes before the Camels found the net again. In the 68th minute, Diego Konincks found space in the left side of the 18-yard box, placing a shot into the right corner of the net.  

Kemy Amichie had the final goal for Campbell in the 74th minute with a shot from the outside of the box landing in the left side of the goal.  

ODU (1-2-0) had the final goal of the match as Elliot Goldthorp released a shot from the top of the 18-yard box into the left side of the net.  

"We will have to bring a lot more fight to have a chance to win against George Mason", said Dawson.  

Old Dominion will return to the field on Tuesday, Sept. 14, when they travel to Fairfax, Virginia to take on George Mason at 7 p.m.
