Atilano, Conway Receive C-USA Weekly Honors

DALLAS  – Conference USA has named Teresa Atilano its Setter of the Week and handed out Freshman of the Week honors to Myah Conway, the organization announced on Monday afternoon. The Monarch duo played integral roles in Old Dominion's 3-0 weekend at the Quest for the Crown Tournament.

The Most Valuable Player of the Quest for the Crown, Atilano pulled the strings for Old Dominion all tournament long, averaging 12.55 assists per set while committing just one set error in 286 total attempts. With Atilano orchestrating the attack, the Monarchs averaged 15.09 kills per set while attacking at a .298 clip. The native of San Diego notched a season-high 53 assists in a four-set win over Radford to start the tournament, the second-most assists in a match in program history. Later that same night, she had 45 assists with a season-best three blocks and two service aces to guide ODU past Buffalo in comeback fashion. Atilano capped off the weekend with 40 assists in a sweep of Norfolk State. Additionally, she tallied six kills for the tournament without committing an error and averaged 1.91 digs per set.

A fellow member of the Quest for the Crown All-Tournament Team, Conway averaged 3.45 kills per set on a .324 hitting percentage to help guide the Monarchs to the tournament title. The right side hitter was second on the team in kills per set and reached double-digits in kills in all three matches, including a personal-best 15 against Radford. Against the Highlanders, Conway hit .370 and added four blocks. She turned in her best attacking percentage of the tournament in a four-set comeback win over Buffalo at .375 and had 12 kills.


 
Atilano receives C-USA Setter of the Week recognition for the first time in her career. The Freshman of the Week honor is the first for Conway.
