NORFOLK, Va. – Marlon de Bruijne of the Old Dominion field hockey team was honored as the VaSID Co-Rookie of the Year and was joined on the all-state first team by Delphine Le Jeune.

Marlon de Bruijne | Fr. | F | Den Bosch, Netherlands
De Bruijne collects her second major accolade after being named BIG EAST Co-Freshman of the Year as well. The forward led all Division I freshman in goals (15) and total points (32) and was voted to the All-BIG EAST First Team and All-Tournament Team and to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-South Region First Team. The native of Den Bosch, Netherlands was honored as the NFHCA Offensive Player of the Week on March 3 after two sizzling displays against Villanova. De Bruijne scored three goals in the first game against the Wildcats before notching four more the following day, which matched the single-game high in DI this season. She also scored a pair of goals in the BIG EAST semifinals to carry the Monarchs past No. 6 Liberty and into a second-consecutive conference final.

Delphine Le Jeune | So. | M/B | Ghent, Belgium
Le Jeune immediately slotted into the heart of ODU's midfield in her first season of collegiate field hockey. She was one of three unanimous First Team All-BIG EAST honorees and was also voted on to the BIG EAST All-Tournament Team and the NFHCA All-South Region Second Team. Le Jeune started in all 14 games for ODU and averaged a point per game. She was third on the team with 14 points and six assists and was fourth with four goals. Old Dominion's designated penalty stroke taker, Le Jeune was a perfect 2-for-2 on opportunities from seven yards out and scored the game-winning goal against Quinnipiac from the spot. She registered four points in a game three times, including a pair of back-to-back contests in conference play.
