PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – Carter Morgan sits in a two-way tie for second place just three strokes off the lead, and the Old Dominion men's golf team is in fourth place following the first two rounds of the Golfweek Spring Invitational, held at the True Blue Golf Club on Pawleys Island, South Carolina.
 
Morgan turned in a pair of sub-par rounds on the par-72, 6,940-yard course and is tied with North Dakota State's Jack Johnson for second place at 6-under 138. The senior from Tappahannock, Virginia started off the day with a 2-under 70. He then proceeded to card a season-best 68 in the second round, highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 fourth hole.
 
Through 36 holes, Morgan shares the second-best score on par 4s at 3-under. His mark of 4-under on the course's par-5 holes is tied for seventh-best among the field of 57. On Monday he racked up eight total birdies, 23 pars and was one of 10 players to log an eagle.
 
Rasmus Konradsson fired a season-best 67 (-5) in the first round then followed with a 73 to enter the final round tied for sixth at 140. He carded seven total birdies in his first round, including four in a six-hole stretch on the back nine, and is tied for sixth with nine total birdies.
 
Jakob Henriksson, the reigning Conference USA Men's Golfer of the Week, is tied for 19th at 1-under 143. After a 74 in the first round, the freshman from Stockholm, Sweden fired a 69 in the second round. Henriksson went 3-under in his final nine holes of the day, including an eagle on the ninth hole. He currently ranks second among the field in par-5 scoring at 6-under.
 
Gustav Fransson is tied for 25th at 145 (75-70). His second-round 70 matches his lowest score of the season. Filip Wetterqvist rounded out the Monarchs with a 75-73—148 and is tied for 36th.
 
As a team, ODU sits comfortably in fourth, seven strokes ahead of Radford, at 10-under 566 (286-280). The Monarchs' 8-under 280 in the second round is their lowest score in a round this season. ODU is just two strokes behind Delaware and Campbell. North Dakota State currently leads the field at 20-under 556.
 
No. 36-ranked Pontus Nyholm of Campbell tops the individual leaderboard at 9-under 135 (69-66).
 
The final round of the Golfweek Spring Invitational begins tomorrow at 7:45 a.m.
