NORFOLK, Va. – Holly Hutchinson of the Old Dominion women's tennis team was named to the 2021 Conference USA All-Academic Team, as announced by league officials on Tuesday afternoon.
Hutchinson boasts a 3.95 GPA as a master's student working on her graduate degree in lifespan and digital communication media studies. Hutchinson has been named to the Dean's List and C-USA Honor Roll every semester and has earned three C-USA Commissioner Medals.
The Middlesex, England native has played No. 1 singles throughout her entire career at ODU and has been nationally ranked in singles most of this season and is now ranked in doubles as well. Hutchinson is recently coming off a singles win over No. 32 Anna Campana to seal the deal on ODU's 4-1 win over No. 24 Wake Forest in Winston-Salem.
Last year, Hutchinson was named the Conference USA Player of the Year, All-League First Team for singles and garnered First Team All-State honors for singles.
She has also earned the ITA Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award winner for the Atlantic region. During her first season, Hutchinson was named the C-USA Freshman of the Year.
Hutchinson and the Monarchs earned the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Conference USA Tournament held in Denton, Texas and will play the winner of UAB/UTSA on Friday, April 23 at 11 a.m. EST.
