BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Freshman forward Marlon de Bruijne received further recognition for her outstanding seven-goal weekend against Villanova as she was named the Play Safe/NFHCA Division I Offensive Player of the Week.

The BIG EAST's leading goalscorer, de Bruijne found the back of the goal seven times across two games with the Wildcats last week. She scored three times in Friday's 4-1 win, becoming the first Old Dominion freshman with a hat trick since at least 2010. The native of Den Bosch, Netherlands followed up with four goals in a 7-1 victory on Saturday, including a superb backhanded effort from near the baseline.

De Bruijne ranks first nationally with 1.8 goals per game, and her 3.6 points per game are fourth-best in Division I. The four goals she put past Villanova on Saturday are the most by a DI player this season.
