Five Monarchs Named NFHCA Scholars of Distinction

BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Nicole Fredricks, Lauren Holbrook, Evelyn Murray, Shannon Quaile and Rina Tsioles have been named Division I Scholars of the Distinction by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association, the organization announced on Thursday.
 
The Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2020-21 academic year. More than 250 student-athletes were recognized as Scholars of Distinction.
 
All five Monarchs are receiving the recognition for the first time in their respective careers.
 
The NFHCA recently announced the Division I National Academic Squad, which featured 12 members of the Old Dominion field hockey team. The organization is set to announce National Academic Team Awards on March 29 before naming the National Scholar-Athlete on June 15.
