ODU Men's Swimming Knocks Off William & Mary, 131-128

NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion University men's swimming team eked out a 131-128 win over William &Mary on Saturday afternoon at the JC Scrap Chandler Pool. The women's team fell to the Tribe 181-81. Senior Peter Durisin recorded an ODU pool record time of 54.69 in winning the 100 breaststroke.

"Today was an excellent opportunity for our team to have one more time to race this season at our home pool," ODU head coach Jess Livsey said. "Their hard work leading into the meet was apparent in their success and we are very optimistic as we head into next season. Thank you again to our graduating class, we will miss you!"

The men's 200 medley relay team of Hugo Eriksson, Peter Durisin, Oskar Iwarsson and Parker Harp started the meet with a win for ODU in a time of 1:31.12.
 
Brennan Carroll and Eriksson placed second and third in the 1000 freestyle. Carroll finished with a time of 10:14.89, while Eriksson's was 10:36.46.
 
Noah Wilkins got the Monarchs in the winner's column in individual events by winning the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:40.23.
 
Jacob Cobb continued the winning trend in the 100 backstroke with a time of 51.39. Cobb added a second-place finish in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:42.44. He got back in the win column in the 200 IM with a time of 1:54.41.
 
Durisin's record-setting time in the 100 breaststroke gave ODU three-straight wins.
 
Caleb Wyninger corralled a third-place finish in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:53.66.
 
Harp got ODU back in the win column with a victory in the 50 freestyle with a time of 20.77.
 
The Yorktown, Virginia native added his second-straight victory, winning the 100 freestyle in a time of 46.05.
 
Wilkins added his second win of the day in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:51.75. Wilkins totaled his third win of the day with a time of 50.32 in the 100 butterfly.
 
Durisin notched his second triumph with a win in the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:03.25.
 
 The women's 200 medley relay team of Summer Sampson, Tara Enneking, Stephanie Nardone and Miranda Byrne finished second with a time of 1:46.18 in the first women's event.
 
In the 100 backstroke, Sampson place second and Peri Farling third. Sampson had a time of 57.37, while Farling finished in 58.03.
 
Tara Enneking placed second in the 100 breaststroke, just .21 behind Annie Tuttle with a time of 1:03.93.
 
Sampson earned the victory in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:03.43, while Alizee Brossier finished third in 2:04.45.
 
Enneking avenged her second in the 100 breaststroke with a win in the 200. She won by nearly three seconds with a time of 2:18.69.
 
Katie Ellett won the 200 IM in a time of 2:07.80.
