LAKE WORTH, Fla. – Freshman Jakob Henriksson carded 10 birdies en route to consecutive 2-under-par 70s and a share of the lead after 36 holes on Monday at the Southern Invitational, hosted by Loyola (Md.). As a whole, the Old Dominion men's golf team posted an 8-over 584 (284-300) at the par-72, 6,757-yard The Falls Club in Palm Beach, Florida and enters Tuesday's final round in a tie for third place.
Henriksson was one of three golfers to go under par in both rounds on Monday along with co-leader Peter Gasperini of VCU (71-69) and Middle Tennessee's Connor McKay (71-71).
The Monarchs finished the first round at 4-under. Henriksson, Gustav Fransson and Carter Morgan all carded 70s in the opening round.
ODU completed the second 18 at 12-over 300.
Fransson finished the second round at 2-over 74 and sits tied for 11th at even par.
Henriksson completed his par-5 holes at 5-under, tied for the second-lowest score in the field. Fransson led the first two rounds in total pars with 30.
The Monarchs wrap up the Southern Invitational with one final round on Tuesday.
