NORFOLK, Va. - ODU women's basketball will return to its home court with a visit from Charlotte (6-7, 5-3 C-USA) on Wednesday, Feb. 10 at Chartway Arena for its annual Hoops for the Cure game. Tip-off between the Monarchs and the 49ers is set for 6:30 p.m.
The matchup will be streamed on ESPN+ and aired on Money Talk 1310 featuring commentary from Doug Ripley and Susan Montgomery.
On Saturday, ODU will travel to Charlotte to take on the 49ers at 6 p.m. in Halton Arena.
Notables
- Last season, ODU faced Charlotte at home and on the road, where they split the series, 1-1. In its first contest, ODU edged the 49ers, 54-51 at Chartway Arena. On Feb. 20, 2020, the Monarchs dropped a close 63-59 contest at Charlotte.
- The Monarch squad is coming off a weekend split against Marshall.

- Lanay Wheaton was named Conference USA Freshman of the Week on Monday, Feb. 8. The Hope, Arkansas native stepped up off the bench for ODU, recording a season-high 11 points in the Monarchs' Friday night win over Marshall and seven points on Saturday in the Monarchs' overtime loss to the Herd. Five of Wheaton's seven points on Saturday came in the fourth quarter, which helped send the Monarchs to overtime, eventually falling short. The rookie also grabbed a season-high five boards Saturday and two on Friday.
- Victoria Morris is 26th on the all-time scoring list with 1,187 points. She is 84 points away from catching Jasmine Parker (1,271).

Scouting the 49ers
Charlotte is also coming off a weekend split. The 49ers took down Middle Tennessee on Saturday for the first time in program history. The team leads the league in 3-point FG percentage defense.
Individually, junior Jada McMillian leads Charlotte offensively, averaging 17.6 ppg, which ranks sixth in the league in scoring. Additionally, McMillian paces the 49ers in steals (19) and assists (58). McMillian boasts a 52.0 field goal percentage, which is good for third-best in the league. On the defensive side, Jazmin Harris grabs 6.5 boards per game, while picking up 16 blocks this season.
