IRVING, Texas – Madison Corcoran and Lilly Siskind were both named to the American Athletic Conference Preseason All-Conference Team, the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon.
A junior defender, Corcoran started in all nine of Old Dominion's games last season and notched a team-high 11 caused turnovers with 11 ground balls as well. The Rochester, New York native caused multiple turnovers in four games and had a season-best three ground balls in a Feb. 19 game against William & Mary.
A sophomore attack, Siskind is the Monarchs' top returning scorer after finishing second with 14 goals last season. The West Chester, Pennsylvania native chipped in three assists as well and was third on the team with 17 points. Siskind netted a pair of hat tricks during the shortened 2020 season.
Florida topped the preseason poll with 25 points and five first-place votes. Vanderbilt was tabbed to finish second with 19 points. Temple placed third with 17 points and the final first-place vote. Cincinnati, East Carolina and Old Dominion rounded out the poll.
The Gators' Brianna Harris, Shannon Kavanagh and Sarah Reznick were the conferences preseason attack player, midfielder and goalkeeper of the year, respectively. Cincinnati's Morgan Dukes and Florida's Cara Trombetta split preseason defensive player of the year honors.
ODU opens the season on Feb. 12 with a 1 p.m. game at VCU before starting its home slate against William & Mary on Feb. 24. That game with the Tribe will be streamed live on odusports.com.
