MacGillivray, de Bruijne Earn BIG EAST Weekly Honors

NEW YORK – Cam MacGillivray and Marlon de Bruijne received weekly awards from the BIG EAST, the conference announced on Monday. MacGillivray was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week, and de Bruijne was the BIG EAST's Rookie of the Week.
 
A redshirt junior from Calgary, Alberta, MacGillivray played every minute in goal for Old Dominion as it picked up a pair of wins over BIG EAST foe Temple. She made four saves in a 3-2 shootout victory on Saturday and came up big to end the match with a stop from the penalty spot in the final round of the shootout. The next day, MacGillivray made two saves in a 1-0 win for her first shutout of the season. Over the two games, MacGillivray posted a .750 save percentage and a 0.86 goals against average.
 
A freshman from Den Bosch, Netherlands, de Bruijne scored her first collegiate goals over the weekend. She scored twice in regulation on Saturday before adding two successful attempts, including the decisive try, in the shootout. De Bruijne paced the Monarchs with nine shot attempts in the two games and hit the target seven times.
