NORFOLK, Va. - The Old Dominion baseball team looks to bounce back from its Sunday loss to Yale as they host VMI on Tuesday at 3 PM. Head coach Chris Finwood is no stranger to VMI, starting for the Keydets from 1985-88, then kick starting his coaching career in Lexington. The game will be streamed on CUSA TV with Eric Bohannon on the call. 

ODU opened midweek play last week with a 6-3 comeback win over VCU on the road. Over the weekend, ODU earned its third straight series win, finishing with a 2-1 mark over Yale. Offensively, Ryan Teschko led the Monarchs, recording a .412 average through four games, knocking in five runs, highlighted by two home runs. 

Against the league, the Monarchs currently have the second-best winning percentage (.800) right behind UTSA (.833). Along with its 8-2 record, ODU averages a .303 batting average as a team, which is also second-best in the C-USA. Freshman Chris Dengler currently has a .400 batting average, which is good for fourth-best in the league. 

About the Keydets
VMI is coming off a series win over Quinnipiac, after dropping its series opener, the Keydets won both games of its Sunday doubleheader. VMI's Ben Capehart is set to make his third start on the bump. The freshman currently owns a 2.25 ERA in four innings of work. The Keydets will be playing its third midweek game this season, going 0-2 in its previous two meetings.
