SAN ANTONIO, Texas – In its eighth consecutive win, the Old Dominion (19-3, 9-1 C-USA) women's basketball team defeated UTSA, 62-43 on the road. Senior Taylor Edwards and junior Victoria Morris both recorded 14 points.

"We persevered. We're not able to play a lot of people. We had two guards out and so we're very limited and thin on the perimeter, but we found a way," head coach McCray said after the win.

In the first period, Old Dominion did not record one turnover and outscored the Roadrunners, 19-16. Sophomore Mariah Adams led the way in the opening 10 minutes with six points. The Monarchs continued its scoring in the second with five field goals, one from beyond the arc coming from freshman Marie Reichert. Heading in to the locker room ODU took a 10-point lead.

Coming out from the break ODU shot 80 percent from the three-point line, three of the four were drained from Morris. The Monarch defense held UTSA (6-15, 2-8  C-USA) to just 20 percent in the third quarter, going three-of-15. To close out the game ODU logged 11 points, five of the points were scored from Edwards. The Virginia native also notched her fifth trey of the season.

"58 rebounds to 34 that was really key for us. We really dominated in that area and I think that was what allowed us to really compete with this team was our ability to dominate the boards. We have to continue to get better and start hitting shots and timely shots."
