NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion volleyball team announced its inaugural Conference USA schedule on Friday. ODU will host six league games in its brand new ODU Volleyball Center.
"We are looking forward to the spring C-USA season with excitement," expressed head coach Fred Chao. "Of course, we can't wait to play our historical first match, but we are prepared to adapt."
In order to focus on the health and safety of student-athletes, the C-USA implemented adjustments to its regular season conference scheduling. As part of the league schedule changes, all volleyball games will be played on Sunday and Monday. Non-conference games are slated to start late January. The entirety of the non-conference schedule will be announced at a later date.
The Monarchs will open league action with two consecutive road games at FIU on Feb. 7 and Feb. 8. Following its road stint, ODU will host back-to-back contests against reigning C-USA Champion and 2019 NCAA Second Round squad, Western Kentucky. To close out February, the Monarchs will visit Middle Tennessee on the 21 and 22. ODU will then return home to take on Florida Atlantic before wrapping up their schedule with home matches against Marshall on March 21 and 22.
"Even though we are not playing everyone in the conference, we appreciate the schedule that C-USA has given. Every match will pose different challenges, and we will work to find our competitive rhythm quickly."

In September, the NCAA Division I Board of Directors approved a plan to conduct 2020 fall championships in the spring of 2021. Per the NCAA, the first official day of volleyball competition begins on January 22.
