MIAMI, Fla. – The Old Dominion (15-3, 5-1 C-USA) women's basketball team routed FIU, 66-39 on the road to record its fourth-straight win. Reigning C-USA Player of the Week, Ajah Wayne led the team in scoring, recording 14 points and adding six rebounds.

"This is a good overall win. I think defensively we were good, we played many different lineups, including having our bigs in there," said head coach Nikki McCray. "The fourth quarter we only scored eight points, but we had lineups in there that don't typically play together."

In the first quarter, senior Taylor Edwards scored the first six points for the Monarchs, which led to their 10-0 scoring run to open the contest. ODU shot 53 percent, while holding the Panthers to just 19 percent and eight points through 10 minutes of action. In the second quarter, ODU continued to shoot over 50 percent, knocking down six-of-12 field goals. The Monarchs went into the locker room with a 40-22 lead.

ODU continued to score double-digit figures in the third quarter, notching 18 points. Just in that third quarter, the Monarchs stepped up to the free throw line 17 times, notching 11 of the attempts. In the fourth, the Panthers outscored ODU, 10-8. Despite going 100 percent from the free throw line in the fourth, ODU only went three-for-12 from the field goal department.

"I was really pleased with the overall effort. We rebounded the ball and we got stops when we needed to. We're not shooting the ball particularly well right now, that is a concern because we have shooters and for whatever reason, we're not knocking down shots."

Overall, ODU shot 66 percent from the free throw line, its best mark since its loss at UAB. Amaya Register added 11 points, her most since her career-high 16 points against Winthrop. Edwards ended up with 11 points to go along with four rebounds and one assist. ODU's bench scored 26 points, while also scoring 13 points off Pather turnovers.
