ODUSports.com asked several members of the ODU Men's Golf team to describe their most memorable round. Below are the responses from Chris Ayers, Doug Rios Ceballos and Filip Wetterqvist.

Chris Ayers – Sr. – Wethersfield, Conn.
My most memorable golf round was at my home course, Goodwin Park in Hartford, Connecticut with my mom. It was a hot summer day in August 2019. It was a week before I headed back to school and wanted to get a golf round in with just my mom before I left. It was scorching outside, touching 100 degrees on a summer afternoon.

What made it so memorable was that in this round, I made seven straight birdies to start the day. To this day, seven birdies in a row is my personal record and I likely won't ever break it. Not only was it memorable that I had such an impressive start, but the accolades continued as I was able to shoot the course record which is now a 9-under par and for a 61!

I am so happy that I was able to share my special round with my mom, And every time I see the scorecard hanging in the pro shop, I think of her!

Doug Rios Ceballos – Sr. – Sydney, Australia
The rounds I remember the most while on the ODU golf team would be the practice rounds before a tournament. Each practice round we have before a tournament starts is very memorable and fun. During the practice rounds, we would play with the team of five and the coaches all in one group. These times were the best because we got to hang out with each other while trying to figure out the best way to play the golf course we were at.

The best specific memory I've had with the golf team was at the Golden Horseshoe Invitational in 2019, when I saw a fellow teammate Gustav Fransson hole out for an albatross on a par 5.

Filip Wetterqvist – So. – Stockholm, Sweden
My most memorable golf moment is when me and my teammates at Stockholm GC won the Swedish junior team championship in 2016. In the final match we played the reigning champions, a golf club from the southern part of Sweden called Ljunghusen GC.

The format was two foursomes and three single matches. I played in one of the foursomes. We had a bad start, but managed to fight back. In the end, we won one of the two foursomes and two out of three single matches which meant that we won the final, 3-2.
