NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University athletics had a record seven teams record its highest multi-year APR score in program history, as reported today by the NCAA. This year's APR is based on scores submitted for 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19.  
 
The Monarchs had four programs record a perfect four-year APR score, including women's golf, men's swimming, and men's and women's tennis. Women's golf and women's tennis recorded perfect scores for the second-straight year, while men's swimming and men's tennis were perfect for the first time in program history. Last week, the NCAA honored these four sports for finishing in the top-10 percent of the APR in their respective sport.
 
Football, men's soccer and women's swimming delivered the highest scores in program history.
 
In addition to the multi-year scores, ODU had seven programs record a single-year perfect APR score of 1,000. Highlighted by the women's golf program notching its fifth-straight perfect single-year score, men's swimming (4th), women's tennis (4th), men's tennis (3rd), women's basketball, men's golf, women's swimming and were all perfect. The seven perfect scores are second only to the eight perfects in 2016-17.
 
The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete on scholarship.  The APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation and provides a measure of each team's academic performance.
