ODU Rowing postpones its Life on the River event

NORFOLK, Va. – Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the Old Dominion rowing program has postponed its Life on the River event, which was scheduled for April 25. The program is planning to reschedule the event for a future date.

"We are sorry to announce the need to postpone our Life on the River event," head coach Daniel Garbutt said. "In these unprecedented times, it would be impossible to go forward with the event. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Hampton Roads community and we look forward to rescheduling the event in the fall or whenever our current situation allows."

The event was designed to help raise funds for the ODU rowing program, honor the team's seniors and engage with the community surrounding the Lafayette River, a river that makes the city of Norfolk so special.

"These are obviously difficult circumstances and the road ahead is uncertain but we are going to need each other's support in the future more than ever," Garbutt continued. "Please stay tuned for the new date."
