Carver Named to C-USA All-Academic Team for Second Straight Year

NORFOLK, Va. – For the second straight year, Aaron Carver of the Old Dominion men's basketball team was one of five student-athletes named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team on Friday afternoon, as announced by league officials. In order to qualify for nomination to the team, student-athletes must have achieved at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average and serve as a key competitor of their respective team.
 
Carver already earned his undergraduate degree in Engineering Technology with a minor in Engineering Management and is currently working on his Masters in Engineering Management with a 3.7 GPA. Carver is a C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and Commissioner's Medal recipient. He was named to CoSIDA's Academic NCAA Division I All-District 3 (North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia) First Team, the NABC Honors Court and interned at NASA last the summer.
 
Carver currently has 684 career rebounds, which is 21st all-time for the ODU basketball program. His 314 rebounds so far this season ranks 16th in the NCAA and first in the C-USA. He is averaging 7.5 defensive rebounds per game, which is the 17th most in Division I and leads the league. Carver is also averaging 10.5 boards per contest, which leads Conference USA and is the 17th most in the nation. The Elizabeth City-native has appeared in 123 contests throughout his collegiate career and is one game away from tying Alex Loughton, who is No. 19 on ODU's all-time games played list.
