NORFOLK, Va. - The Old Dominion women's basketball team is set to host UAB in the Monarchs final home game of the regular season on Thursday, March 5 at 6:30 PM. Two Monarchs in Taylor Edwards and Ashley Scott along with student managers Isaiah Fernandez and Dahkel Darling will be honored in a pregame ceremony for Senior Night, which will begin at 6:15 in the Chartway Arena.
The Monarchs (RV) are riding a 14-0 undefeated home court streak this season. Dating back to last season, ODU owns a 16-straight home game win streak. The last season ODU went undefeated at home was 2007-08, when the Monarchs went 31-5 overall and 17-1 in CAA play, sprinting to the Sweet 16, where it lost to #1 UConn, 78-63.
Along with its outstanding home record, the Monarchs have been receiving votes in both the WBCA Coaches Poll and the AP Poll.
About UAB
The Blazers have won three consecutive games over the Monarchs, which includes the first game ODU dropped in league play. ODU scored 34 points in the final quarter but it was not enough to comeback. UAB has a three-point machine in Rachael Childress on its team. She recently moved into the top-10 DI all-time three-point shooter list. The Senior is the nation's active career leader with 411 threes.
As a team, UAB leads Conference USA in seven categories and is top 50 in the country in nine categories.
