NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion lacrosse team kicks off a five-game home stand on Wednesday, March 4 when it takes on Davidson at 3 p.m. at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex.

The Monarchs are coming off of a tight 15-14 loss on the road against Longwood this past Saturday, which puts them at 3-3 on the season. ODU hopes to improve its record by taking advantage of this long stretch of home games, as the Monarchs have won two of the three contests they've had in Norfolk so far in 2020.

Glory Johnson scored three goals in Saturday's match against Longwood, the fifth time she has registered at least three goals in a game all season. She also added an assist to her ledger to lead the Monarchs with four points. The Baldwinsville, N.Y. native took four shots, all on goal, and brought in a game-high eight draw controls in the effort.

Johnson leads the BIG EAST and is among the top in the nation in draw controls per game (8.33, third), points (30, ninth) and goals (21, 10th). She is also ranked second in the conference in average points per game with a mark of 5.0, trailing only Quintin Hock-Bullen of Denver, who averages 5.2 points per game.

Lilly Siskind also netted three goals in Saturday's loss, while Caroline Shaefer and Brooke Stein each scored twice. Goalkeeper Brianna Blatter came in off the bench midway through the first half with her team down by six early on. She managed to stop 10 of the 16 shots she faced while the Monarchs managed to claw their way back into the lead, but Longwood ultimately scored the game-tying and game-winning goals within the game's final five minutes.

Series History
Wednesday marks the fourth time that ODU and Davidson will meet on the lacrosse field. The Wildcats have won two of the three previous contests including beating the Monarchs, 18-6 in Davidson. At one point in that matchup, Davidson went on a 13-1 run to put the Monarchs in a hole they couldn't dig their way out of. Johnson scored three of the six ODU goals, while Claire Porter also netted a goal in the loss.

The lone Monarch win against Davidson is also the only other time the two programs have met each other at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex. ODU came away from the contest with a 10-8 victory back in the 2015 season.
