BUIES CREEK, N.C. - In its first road loss of the season, the Old Dominion baseball team dropped a 10-8 contest at Campbell on Wednesday night. The Monarchs nearly came back by scoring three runs in the sixth and seventh innings but the Camel's five-run sixth inning was too much for ODU.

Following a delayed start due to weather, Campbell opened the contest with one run in the bottom of the first. The Monarchs answered in the fourth with two runs on a Brock Gagliardi double which pushed two Monarchs in to take a 2-1 lead. The Camels once again regained the lead after three singles and two doubles pushed the score to 5-2.

ODU tied up the game in the top of the sixth with the help of three walks and a hit by pitch. Campbell answered immediately with five runs, which gave them a 10-5 lead over the Monarchs heading in to the seventh inning. ODU tacked on three runs in the seventh off a pair of Bell and Petracci singles but it was not enough to catch up to the Camels.

Landry Moore earned the win for Campbell, pitching .1 inning and not allowing a hit.
