No. 29 Women’s Tennis Downs Tulane in New Orleans, 6-1

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The No. 29 nationally ranked Old Dominion women's tennis team improved to 9-2 on the season after taking down Tulane (6-7) by a 6-1 score on Sunday afternoon at the City Park Tennis Center. The Tennis Monarchs have now five of its last six matches. Yulia Starodubtseva picked up a nationally ranked win in singles in straight sets over No. 101 Mackenzie Clark (6-1, 6-4).
 
"I felt we had a gutsy performance today," ODU head coach Dominic Manilla said. "The conditions were quite adverse because of the wind, but we handled it well. We are excited to be heading back to Norfolk this evening."
 
Old Dominion will return to action on Saturday, March 7, when the Monarchs welcome Xavier to the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center for an 11:00 a.m. ET match.
