DeKalb, Ill. - The Old Dominion wrestling team will be competing for its first ever Mid-American Conference (MAC) title this weekend in DeKalb, Ill. at the 2020 MAC Wrestling Championships, hosted by Northern Illinois University.

The Monarchs finished the regular season with a 10-9 record, 6-2 against conference opponents and settled into second place in the East Division. The team has momentum heading into the conference championships, winning its last four matches, including a 33-3 victory over MAC foe Bloomsburg to wrap up the regular season.

Five wrestling Monarchs were featured in the latest NCAA polls, as Larry Early and Killian Cardinale were featured on both the NCAA coaches' panel and the ratings percentage index (RPI) rankings. Sa'Derian Perry was named to the coaches' panel while both Shane Jones and Kenan Carter were both listed in the RPI rankings.

Cardinale and Perry were seeded in the top-three in their weight class heading into the MAC Championship, while Early and Jones rounded out the top-five at 157 pounds and 165 pounds, respectively. At 184 pounds, Antonio Agee was tabbed as the sixth seed in the conference, while Carter was chosen as the seventh seed at 149 pounds.
