COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Old Dominion women's tennis team improved to 7-1 on the season, while extending its winning-streak to three after taking down Wichita State (1-6) by a 5-2 score on Saturday at the Mizzou Tennis Complex. The Tennis Monarchs have now outscored their opponents 40-9 so far this season.
"We were really tested today on many levels," said ODU head coach Dominic Manilla. "Wichita State is program we have great respect for. They fight hard and are well coached. They brought exactly what we expected them to bring. I'm happy we were ready and got the win, but we need to be even more ready tomorrow if we want to beat another SEC program. We are excited to play tomorrow. Go Monarchs!"
On Sunday, Feb. 9 at 11:00 a.m. ET, ODU will square-off against Missouri (5-1) at the Mizzou Tennis Complex. Missouri's Gabrielle Goldin/Serena Nash are the No. 58 ranked doubles duo.
