KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Old Dominion University men's swimming finished in fourth place at the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association (CCSA) Championships held at the University of Tennessee.
"I am so proud of the year these men have had and their great results this week. They continue to surprise me everyday with their continued desire to be the best they can be in every aspect and have proven that hard word pays off," ODU head coach Jess Livsey said. "I am looking forward to another great meet in a few weeks, as well as our successes yet to come."
The final night started with the 1650 freestyle as Brennan Carroll finished in ninth place with a time of 16:35.49, while Caleb Wyninger placed 12th with a time of 16:41.08.
Jacob Cobb continued his run of solid finishes by placing fifth in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:49.07. Hugo Eriksson also made the A-Final and finished eighth with a time of 1:53.42. Neal McElhattan rounded out ODU entrants with a time of 1:54.17 to take 15th.
Parker Harp followed in the 100 freestyle by winning the B-Final with a time of 45.27 to finish in ninth place.
The 100 breaststroke saw another solid finish for Peter Durisin, as he took fifth with a time of 2:01.36.
Following his win in the 100 butterfly on Friday night, Filip Svedberg finished eighth in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:52.43. Gus Maxwell won the B-Final to finish ninth with a time of 1:51.04, while Wyninger placed 16thwith a time of 1:55.18.
The Championship ended with the 400 freestyle relay, which ODU placed fourth with a time of 3:02.33.
