NORFOLK, Va. - For the third time this season, Old Dominion sophomore Ajah Wayne has been named Conference USA Player of the Week, as announced by the league Monday afternoon.

Wayne earned her third C-USA Player of the Week accolade after a solid two-game stretch at home last week. The Birmingham, Alabama native totaled 34 points in two games, which was highlighted by her 21 point performance in the monumental win over Rice, which snapped its 30 conference game win streak.

Against Rice, Wayne shot 53 percent from the field, recording 21 points to help lead the Monarchs to the top spot in the league. She followed that with 13 points and 11 rebounds in the Monarchs win over North Texas, which marked her fifth double-double of the season.

Conference USA Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week are chosen by a vote of the league's 14 communications directors.

Wayne and the Monarchs hit the road to take on Charlotte on Thursday and Marshall on Saturday riding an 11 game winning streak.
