NORFOLK, Va. – Conference USA announced the remaining four regular season games as part of Bonus Play for the Old Dominion men's basketball team on Sunday afternoon. The Monarchs, the defending C-USA champions, enter Bonus Play with a 7-7 record in league play, which resulted in a three-way tie for sixth place and a spot in the second pod (teams 6-10th).
Within the Bonus Play format, teams have been placed in one of three groups based on conference standings through the first 14 games of league action and will be guaranteed conference tournament seeding within that group. The teams have been divided into two groups of five (1-5 and 6-10) and a group of four (11-14). During the final three weeks, teams will play within their respective grouping for the last four games of conference play. Home and away games within the groups are determined by a preset formula.
Once all 18 games have been completed, 12 teams, based on their overall conference record (throughout the entirety of the regular season), within their respective group, will be seeded in the conference tournament. For example, if a program lands in the second group (6-10), it will seed no higher than six and no lower than 10 in the tournament field.
ODU will open up 'Bonus Play' on the road on Saturday, Feb. 22 at Marshall for a 7:00 p.m. ET tip, which will air on ESPN3.
Old Dominion will then play host to Florida Atlantic on Sunday, March 1 at 2:00 p.m. ET on ESPN3
The Monarchs will remain at home for its next contest against UTSA on Wednesday, March 4, which will mark Senior Day for ODU's Aaron Carver and Drew Lakey. Tipoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. and will be picked up by ESPN3.
The final game of the regular season for Old Dominion will take place on Saturday, March 7 at 8:00 p.m. ET on CUSA.TV, when the Monarchs travel to Birmingham for a showdown at UAB.
The 2020 C-USA Basketball Championships presented by Baylor Scott & White Sports Performance Center at The Star will be held in Frisco, Texas, March 11-14, at Ford Center.

Women's Basketball Bonus Play
The Conference USA women's basketball programs had a similar strategy this year, announcing the last four games of the season after the non-conference season was complete. The ODU women's team was assigned bonus home games against Florida Atlantic (Feb. 26) and UAB (Mar. 5). The Monarch women will play at Marshall (Feb. 22) and at Rice (Mar. 7). Like the men's programs, the top 12 regular-season finishers will advance to the conference tournament.
Seeding for the C-USA Women's Basketball Tournament is based on overall conference record at the completion of Bonus Play.
