NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion men's tennis team improved to 7-1 on the season after taking Liberty (4-3) by a 6-1 score on Friday night at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center. The Monarchs improved their home record to 6-0 record at home. ODU has outscored its opponents 39-11 so far this season. The Tennis Monarchs have won four straight matches.
"I'm really proud of our group today," said ODU head coach Dominik Mueller. "We are starting to play more consistent and our doubles play is coming together nicely. I like the dynamic of our teams and we can see that in good results. Short turn around now for Sunday, so we will recover fast tomorrow."
On Sunday, Feb. 16, the Monarchs will have a double-header against George Washington at 10:00 a.m. and Morgan State at 2:00 p.m.
George Washington currently boasts a 2-2 record and will take on William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va. on Saturday before coming to Norfolk.
Morgan State is 4-1 so far this season and riding a two-match win-streak.
