NORFOLK, Va. – Holly Hutchinson of the Old Dominion women's tennis team was named the Conference USA Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week on Wednesday afternoon, as announced and voted on by league officials. Last week, Hutchinson claimed victories over two nationally ranked singles players, highlighted by a win over the No. 2 nationally ranked player.

Hutchinson (Middlesex, England) pulled off one of the biggest upsets in college tennis so far this season after taking down the No. 2 ranked singles player in the country, Cameron Morra, in straight sets (7-5, 6-3). On top of that feat, Hutchinson also defeated the No. 65 nationally ranked player, Akanksha Bhan, of Columbia (6-2, 4-6, 6-1) within a 48-hour span.

Hutchinson helped lead ODU to two victories over Norfolk State and Columbia (ITA Kickoff Weekend), while obtaining the Monarchs only point against No. 2 nationally ranked North Carolina.

Hutchinson and the Tennis Monarchs (4-1) will travel to Baton Rouge, La. to take on LSU (3-1) on Thursday, Jan. 30 at 5:00 p.m. ET at the LSU Tennis Center. Then on Sunday, Feb. 2 at 10:00 a.m., ODU will host Dartmouth (2-1) at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.
