NORFOLK, Va. – Sophomore Ajah Wayne was named C-USA Co-Player of the Week Monday afternoon following her standout performance on the hardwood this week. Wayne, who joined Rice's Nancy Mulkey with this week's top honor, led ODU past WKU and Marshall, posting back-to-back double-doubles. The C-USA Player of the Week honor is Waynes second of the season.

In a 76-65 win over WKU on Thursday, Wayne notched 23 points and 10 rebounds, while making nine of 12 shots from the field in 35 minutes. The win marked ODU's first victory over the Hilltoppers since joining the league. On Saturday's 57-46 win over Marshall, Wayne recorded 19 points and 11 rebounds, marking her second-straight double-double.

Wayne also had three assists and went eight for 11 from the free throw line across the week. The Alabama native is now averaging 11.2 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, good for second on the team in both categories.

Conference USA Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week are chosen by a vote of the league's 14 communications directors.

Wayne and the Monarchs hit the road in league play this week, starting at FIU on Thursday, January 23 for a 7 PM tip.
