Women’s Hoops Faces Road Test at In-State William & Mary

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Old Dominion (5-1) women's basketball team continues its road travels with in-state William & Mary (6-1) at Kaplan Arena on Thursday, December 5 at 7 p.m. In this former CAA matchup, Doug Ripley and Susan Montgomery will be on the call on ESPN Radio 94.1.
 
The game will be streamed on FloHoops, a subscription is $12.50 per month.

The Monarchs bounced back from their overtime loss at Virginia with back-to-back wins in the ShareSLO Holiday Beach Classic, earning the outright Championship with wins over Cal Poly and Idaho. In every contest this season, ODU has led at the half. Individually, Amari Young put up a 17-point game against Idaho, matching her career high. Senior Ashley Scott also grabbed a season-high six rebounds against Idaho. Young was named the ShareSLO Holiday Beach Classic MVP, while Victoria Morris, scored 24 points through those two games was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Morris currently leads the squad in scoring, averaging 13.5 ppg. Sophomore Ajah Wayne, who notched a career-high 35 points against Auburn in November leads the team in rebounding, averaging 7.8 rebounds per game.

About the Tribe
Heading into the Thursday matchup, ODU and the Tribe reflect just one loss so far this season. William & Mary's is currently riding a three-game winning streak in UMBC, Hartford and Delaware State. Eva Hodgson currently leads the pack offensively, averaging 18.7 ppg. For the second-straight week, freshman Bre Bellamy was named CAA Rookie of the Week for the second-straight time.

Against current members of the CAA, ODU is 237-55 overall. The Monarchs have met the Tribe the most, dating back to their first meeting in the 1969-70 season. With ODU having been in the CAA from 1992-2013, the Monarchs are seasoned with several of the current teams in this league.
